Born in Germany, living in SA for 4 years already and loving the country and the people so much. We have bad roads which make the Skorpions just the right thing to go skating with. The Multi-Terrains are just perfect for the gravel roads, expecially which go downhill. Besides that I like photography and travelling, hiking, camping through southern Africa. Just before Christmas it was possible to get some enthusiastics together and do the first time Kite Skating in an empty Dam in Beaufort-West, South Africa.
The setting was perfect, low sun, dry dam, nice steady winds.
The Kite picked the wind up very quick and soon we were at the other side of the dam. On the way there was only dust behind the skater from the speed and all the little bumps and dips were no problem for the skates. It felt almost like waterskiing.
I think there is big potential for this in this country, especially in the countryside, where the sea is far. Also it would have been nice to be pulled by a car. So still some ideas for next time.
